The educators are all lovely and seem to genuinely delight in and care for the children. My child has a lot of fun through play and exposure to different activities.

Detail to Centre- upgrades and improvements as well as experiences for the children are amazing!

Mel and Kelly and Kelly M – you guys are always lovely to deal with. Facilities and rooms are big and nice. Educational programs seem effective.

I love the fact that all the educators really care about the children & enjoy their job. They seem to understand what a massive impact they have on our children. (It must be such a wonderful place to work!)

I like the communication, the incursions for the kids are great for them, I also really like the health services that you offer such as the hearing tests and the eye sight testing, these are invaluable. I also really like we get a yearly planner of what to expect and the monthly newsletter.

Our experience has been nothing but positive and would highly recommend Erina Kindergarten. They always communicate and make sure my children are happy and healthy.

Early Learning Matters

Early learning week raises awareness of the role of early childhood education and care in children’s development and wellbeing in Australia. High-quality education and care supports young children to learn & thrive, in cooperation with parents, carers & the wider community. Whether your an early childhood educator, a parent or carer, a parliamentarian or a community leader, we encourage you to get involved and post as much online as we can during week 26-30 July 2021! #EarlyLearningMatters and #EarlyLearningMattersWeek

Family Update

Dear Families,

We wanted to say a big thank you those of you for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback via the recent Family Feedback survey we sent out.

We are still working through and reflecting on some of the feedback in relation to how we might improve as a service however there are a few practices we can implement now that will hopefully support better communication around daily routine information and our curriculum / individual child planning.

Our Service Philosophy;

We noticed a consistency in the responses regarding what you and your children valued most about Early Childhood Education and Care highlighting; care, compassion, love, kindness, nurturing relationships, relationships with educators and peer friendships, happiness, fun, inclusiveness and safety. We will be highlighting these values in our updated service philosophy shortly and will send through via Story Park for your feedback.

Sharing of Daily Routine Information;

We will be working with the teams in implementing the following strategies;

  • Sharing a brief moment of the child’s day at pick up
  • The Joeys, Koala and Emu rooms will now have daily routine sheets that will include information about meal and rest times.
  • Each room will post their daily routine information on story park each day.
  • Where possible each room will also display the daily information near the entrance for families to read at pick up (please understand these will be available after afternoon tea to ensure they can be completed.

Weekly Menu;

  • Just a reminder that the menu is always displayed in the main entrance foyer
  • We have also now displayed it in the yoga hut for the kinder side.
  • You may have already noticed that we will also be posting the weekly menu on Story Park at the beginning of each week.

Documentation and learning

  • Each room will be sharing their curriculum plans with families (these will need to be viewed on a desk computer or laptop like the individual child plans)
  • We have asked each room to ensure their children’s individual plans have been shared with the family (attached is the guidance on ‘How to Access the Plans’)
  • We are currently reflecting on the possibility of implementing a day where we offer 10 minute parent teacher like phone meetings for families to book in who wish to know more about their child’s learning and development.

Opportunities for families to provide feedback

  • We will continue to use survey monkey and email as your preferred method for providing feedback regarding service decisions and improvement.
😊

Kind regards,

Elise Weber

Native Bees

As part of our growing sustainability initiatives we have introduced native stingless bees to our garden at #Erina #kindergarten! These bees are easy and very safe to keep on our premises. Stingless bees only produce small amounts of honey – less than one litre per year. However, this honey (known as Sugarbag) is delicious and tangy! Stingless bees can be excellent pollinators & we are excited to see the benefit to our gardens at #Erina kindergarten!

    Families, can you please send through your child’s current immunisation statement from Medicare if we don’t have this on file as we need this in your child’s enrolment folder.
Please ensure your child’s immunisations are not up to date at all times, centrelink will cancel your CCS subsidy if they are not up to date.

The National Reconciliation Week 2022 theme, “Be Brave. Make Change.” is a challenge to all Australians— individuals, families, communities, organisations and government—to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.

Last year Reconciliation Australia encouraged all Australians to take action; not just in National Reconciliation Week but every week of the year.

We saw unprecedented response to our suggested actions for everyday and for braver action.

This year we are asking everyone to make change beginning with brave actions in their daily lives – where they live, work, play and socialise.

National Reconciliation Week—27 May to 3 June—is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
