Enrolling in Erina Kindergarten has never been easier…

As part of our ongoing commitment to you, Erina Kindergarten now uses a simple online tool for enrolling your children with us. We know you’re busy and time is precious. Xplor is a powerful tool that enables you to enrol easily online 24/7.

If you’re already enrolled at Erina Kindergarten registering with Xplor APP will give you access to a range of powerful tools that allow you to read about what your children are learning and doing each day. Plus, you will be able to see progress photos of your children.

At Erina kindergarten, we offer families both permanent & casual bookings. We do require children to be enrolled for a minimum of one day and be up to date with their accounts to be able to qualify for applicable casual days & discounted terms & conditions.

Erina Kindergarten Families,

We would like to inform all our families of an update to our programming and planning platform, Xplor that we will be using starting this week. Educators will now be using Xplor (the same APP that is used for you accounts) to share information on individual and room planning. The information and documentation that you see coming through on Xplor will remain the same as you have seen previously on Storypark, these will include:

Snapshots of the day– This will be received each day that your child attends the service and will include some photos of the activities and routines that your child engages with throughout the day.

Curriculum reflections: The purpose of a curriculum reflection is to identify and analyse the learning that is occurring as a result of the planned learning environment. Curriculum reflections are a group-based observation that will be shared with the children that are actively engaged in the activity or experience that is been reflected upon. Educators will use these reflections to inform their fortnightly curriculum plan in addition to children’s individual learning journey.

Individual Learning Journey: This plan will capture your child’s individual learning journey in a holistic way. You will be receiving notices when contributions have been made informing your child’s learning journey so that you can observe their development as they progress towards achieving their goals. We encourage you to discuss your child’s learning journey with your child and their educators and contribute where you can by adding information into the section of the plan titled ‘Family Aspirations’.

Summary of Learning: The Summary of learning is another form of documentation that allows educators to bring together what the individual child knows, understands and can do in relation to the Early Years Learning Frameworks Learning outcomes. This plan will be contributed to by educators over the period of the year and released to family’s mid-year and end of the year so that they can celebrate their child’s progress with them.

Accessing plans and observations:

If your child is tagged in a learning document such as an observation or snapshots, you can view it by navigating to the learning tab in the Xplor Home APP or via the web home.

If your child is tagged in a curriculum plan, learning journey or summary of learning this can only be accessed on the web address Playground & Home (myxplor.com)

Please note that not all plans have had input as educators have been busy observing and discovering the ‘journey’ that your child will embark on.

We would like to thank you in advance for your contributions to your child’s learning, The Early Years Learning Framework states that ‘Children are more likely to be confident and involved learners when their family and community experiences and understandings are recognised and included in the early childhood setting. This assists them to make connections and to make sense of new experiences’

Please contact Jemma, Elise, Melissa or Kelly if you have any questions in relation to our updated practices.

Thank you,

Jemma Hall,

Educational Leader.
